
Our Mission
The primary mission of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department is to keep the peace, enforce the law, and insure public safety in Pike County. Our office, located in Pittsfield, is a centralized headquarters to accept any member of the public and his or her complaint or concern.
In keeping with this general mission, the Sheriff’s Department personnel will assist all county agencies and citizens with civil and criminal matters as directed by the authorities for the department and orders directed by the Sheriff.
In accordance with the necessary duties to maintain high standards of performance, All personnel shall strive to be courteous, fair, objective, and helpful.
This departments goal is to provide the citizens of Pike County with the “highest possible level of effectiveness, and level of morality, an exemplary level of legality, and an ideal level of compassion”.
It is a responsible task that will demand the utmost of intelligence, moral character, motivation, and courage. Those who accept the responsibility and set their hearts, hands and minds to the task will forge a better society for all of Pike County and its citizens.
